- Former Kaduna Central District Senator, Shehu Sani has said that President Muhammad Buhari wanted to leave behind a legacy where money would not influence who becomes Nigeria’s next president.
In a tweet on his verified Twitter page, he suggested that President Buhari’s stand on a free and fair election coupled with some of his policies such as the naira redesign and withdrawal limits was the basis of the ruling party’s family war.
Emerald News recalls that the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai in an interview on Channels TV alleged that some persons on the presidential villa were subtly working against the candidacy of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC.
Sani pointed out that the ruling party leaders think the records of president Muhammed Buhari in office would not deliver them to victory without the massive use of monetary inducement.
