The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), in Delta State, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi FNIM, OON, has felicitated with the newly inaugurated Caretaker Committee for the party in the State led by Chief Mrs. Esther Ikule.

He equally congratulated the National Working Committee (NWC) for leading a transparent and successful process for the emergence of a new State Caretaker Committee for the party in Delta State.

Gbagi in a congratulatory message on Saturday May 6th 2023, signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Kenneth Orusi, specifically extended his felicitation to the newly inaugurated Caretaker Committee Chairman, Ikule and the entire members of the Committee.

He wished them a very successful tenure of office.

The former chairman, Legal Aid Council of Nigeria, described the new chairman of the Committee as detribalised woman whose political experience and capacity would count in her new assignment.

“I congratulate the Social Democratic Party for taking steps to tame the over 10 years and more particularly the last 2 years extortion, massive anti-party conduct and destruction of the name of the greatest party and oldest too in Nigeria and Africa that won the freest and fairest election in 1983 during the time of MKO Abiola and Olorogun Felix Ibru respectively to despair”.

He went further to appeal to everybody within the party to cooperate with the leadership and appealed to those who left the party because of the former chairman, to return for the greater good of all.

He said the new leadership must initiate reconciliation mechanisms and membership drive as a matter of priority to make the party stronger and better.

“I congratulate the leadership of the National Working Committee, I congratulate our new chairman, Esther Ikule and the new State Exco,

“I submit myself as a principled loyal friend and a member of the SDP.

“The party members are further notified that the sacking of Oke Idawene and his agents is not reversible and the letter of his sack has reached the State Director of the SSS, State Commissioner of Police, State Commissioner of INEC, State Commander of NSDCD, State IPAC, National Chairman of INEC and all relevant authorities in Delta and the Country respectively.

“Oke having been validly sacked becomes history and his ranting is the ranting and the last breath of a dead animal, ignore him and progress the strongest opposition party in Delta State.

“Disregard him in totality while we set up machinery for SDP to claim his stolen mandate and build membership swell of this great party the SDP that has come to stay. Congratulations new Exco members”.
