Google is set to give its employees worldwide one-time bonuses of $1,600 for the Christmas holiday season.
This was announced by Google spokesperson to Reuters.
The news comes amid Google delaying its initial return-to-office plan indefinitely because of worries of the omicron variation spread and some employees declining to follow its antibody order, Reuters
According to the spokesperson, the bonuses will also be given to the company’s extended workforce and interns as well.
The bonus is in addition to the company’s work-from-home allowance and well-being bonuses to aid in the difficult time during a pandemic that has lasted almost two years.
A review conducted by the company in March had shown a drop in wellbeing among its workers prompting Google to announce a series of benefits including a $500 cash bonus.
It is hazy the exact sum that Google has saved for the bonus this year, as indicated by Reuters.
