In the spirit of the festive season, the wife of Delta Governor and Founder of the You Matter Charity Foundation, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori on Thursday, December 19, 2024, hosted a Christmas party for children in the State.
The event, held at Government House, Asaba, marked the second edition of the celebration organized by Deaconess Oborevwori and over 500 children attended from all 25 Local Government Areas in the State.
Addressing the parents at the gathering, the Governor’s Wife urged them to direct their children in the way of God, reiterating that children are parents’ reward, hence, proper attention should be given to them.
To the children, the First Lady advised them to uphold good morals and demonstrate commitment to their education, even during this festive season.
She reminded them to keep their books close at hand, in order to make their parents and the state proud.
The Governor’s wife further encouraged the spirit of sharing during the festive season, especially with vulnerable individuals and members of immediate communities.
Deaconess Oborevwori offered prayers of safety, prosperity, and good health for the children and wished them a prosperous 2025 while looking forward to future celebrations in the coming years.
The event was filled with fun activities, including, Bible recitation, dancing competitions, and engagement with Santa Claus and other cartoon characters.
Meanwhile, a one minute silence was observed in honour of Late Mrs Oromoni, the Wife of Warri South West Council chairman who passed on recently.
Highlights of the party were a group dance and presentation of gift items to the 500 children and the winners of various competitions. Deaconess Oborevwori also presented symbolic Christmas cakes to the 25 local government areas.
