An Ebonyi-born comedian, Walter Chukwuemeka Nwota, popularly known as MC Walter on Sunday wrapped up his world record-setting attempt, after completing a whopping 130hours non-stop entertainment.
The 130hours of marathon entertainment which held at a popular entertainment joint known as Citihub in Abakaliki, the state capital, started on Tuesday, July 18 and ended on Sunday, July 23, 2023.
The 130hours non-stop entertainment by Chukwuemeka attracted people from all walks of life within and outside the state who trooped into the venue to show solidarity, watch him and to entertain themselves.
The entertain-a-thon featured among other events: birthday celebrations, marriage proposal, traditional marriage/wedding, child dedication receptions; all of which the MC anchored.
Meanwhile, eminent Ebonyians including Governor Francis Nwifuru, member representing Afikpo/Edda Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Iduma Igariwey, his Ohaozara, Onicha and Ivo federal constituency counterpart, Hon. Nkemkanma Kama, Commissioners for Information, and Commerce Jude Okpor and Oguzor Offia-Nwali had congratulated MC Walter on his attempt to set the world record in the entertainment industry through his 130hours non-stop entertainment.
Governor Francis Nwifuru described him as a bundle of talent who is making the state proud in the entertainment industry.
The Governor was said to have placed a video call on MC Walter and urged him to keep making the state proud.
Also, Hon. Iduma Igariwey and Hon. Nkemkanma Kama took to their Facebook pages to congratulate MC Walter.
Igariwey said “Dear MC Walter Chukwuemeka, you have put Ebonyi on the map with your extraordinary world record attempt.
“Be rest assured that we are following your progress and praying for you to have the strength to complete it.
All’s well that ends well”.
Before kick-starting the event, Walter had in an interview with newsmen, confirmed registering and obtaining approval from the Guinness World Records.
Upon conclusion of the marathon entertainment on Sunday evening, there was outburst of jubilation from the venue of the event among Walter’s teeming fans and supporters as well as across indigenes of the state.
