Five people have been confirmed dead and two others injured in a fatal motor accident in Kano state.
According to reports, the mishap happened on Tuesday, November 2, along Kwanar Dumawa-Kunya street in Minjibir Local Government Area of the State.
The accident involved a golf Volkswagen vehicle and a business tricycle. The two vehicles included are Volkswagen (Golf) with enlistment number DUT449 CZ and Bajaj Tricycle with enrollment number GWL 51 WG.
Speaking about the sad incident, a Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC)’s Sector Commandant, Zubairu Mato, said the accident happened as a result of overspeeding.
According to him, the people who lost their lives in the accident are four males and a female while the two who sustained injuries are males.
Going further, Zubairu noted that after receiving a report of the accident, his team in Minjibir office arrived at the scene.
They took the victims to Minjibir and Danbatta general hospitals where the doctor announced the death of five people.
“We received a call at about 1:05 pm on Tuesday.
On receiving the information, we quickly dispatched our personnel and vehicle to the scene of the incident for the rescue of the victims at 1:10pm as well as clearing the obstructions.
Upon arrival in the hospital, the doctor on duty confirmed five dead among the victims,” Mato said.
Meanwhile, the two injured victims are currently at the hospital receiving treatment.
