The member representing Oshimili South Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. (Barr.) Bridget Anyafulu, has joined leaders and well-wishers across Nigeria to celebrate former Delta State Governor and Senator, Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, on the occasion of his 66th birthday.
In a press statement released on Tuesday, Hon. Anyafulu described Senator Okowa as an illustrious and outstanding leader whose life and career continue to inspire current and future generations of Nigerian leaders. Speaking on behalf of the people and residents of Oshimili South, she praised the former governor for his unwavering commitment to public service and inclusive governance.
“Your remarkable and exemplary service to our nation, our State, and the Anioma people will remain a source of inspiration and strength to many of us who learned and grew under your wings and guidance,” Anyafulu stated.
She lauded Okowa’s leadership style, which she said is defined by “uncommon integrity, diligence, dedication, discipline, and a passion for public service.” She also commended his commitment to justice and equity, particularly in the areas of women and girl-child development.
Reflecting on her personal journey in politics, Anyafulu expressed deep gratitude to Senator Okowa for giving her the opportunity to serve in public office.
“I will never forget that you gave me the first shot—the first opportunity to hold a political office. You mentored and nurtured me to become who I am today,” she said.
