The Olu of Warri kingdom, His Majesty, Ogiamé Atuwatse III, has installed Chief Oma Eyewuoma as the new Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom, bringing to abrupt end the reign of derobed Ayiri Emami.
Until his new title, Chief Eyewuoma was the Aboludero of Warri Kingdom.
The installation ceremony which took place on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at the palace of the Olu had in attendance palace chiefs, former Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan and other notable sons and daughters of Warri Kingdom.
The Aghófen hall where the ceremony took place was filled to capacity as everyone was curious of the agenda of the meeting. They were not aware of the reason for the meeting
Rumour has it that the Olu had a meeting on Saturday with the derobed Ologbotsere, Mr. Ayiri Emami.
Meanwhile, there were speculations after the meeting on Saturday that the Olu had resolved to reinstate Mr. Emami as Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom but the reverse was the case. They were unaware of the Olu’s plan.
Recall that the monarch had on October 5, 2021 announced the derobing of the (then) embattled Ologbotsere of Warri, Mr. Ayiri Emami at a ceremony held in his palace.
The pronouncement made by the Olu on Sunday April 16, 2023 had put an abrupt end to Ayiri’s reign as Ologbotsere in Warri Kingdom.
Reports had it that after the installation of Chief Eyewuoma as Ologbotsere, His Majesty, Ogiamé Atuwatse III magnanimously announced a new title (lower) to be conferred on Ayiri but he (Mr. Ayiri) declined and allegedly walked out of the palace as the families of Chief Eyewuoma and the entire Warri Kingdom celebrated the new Ologbotsere.
