As political activities gear up towards the 2023 governorship election in Delta state, a stalwart of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Olorogun Emmanuel Ighomena, has extoled the sterling leadership quality of Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, the most prominent gubernatorial hopeful in the state.
Engr. Ighomena, a former acting chairman of the party, stated this when Olorogun Gbagi, in company of his wife, Justice Sybil Gbagi, JAC, among others in his entourage, paid a consultative visit on Chief Ighomena, in Oghara, Ethiope west local government area of the state.
The former House of Assembly member, who regretted that the Urhobo nation has been jettisoned by people who supposed to stand for what it stands, however, threw his weight behind the gubernatorial aspiration of Gbagi, a former minister of state for education.
The one-time Commissioner for Power and Energy, who was flanked by Hon. Austin Atomre, Vice Chairman, Ethiope west local government area. Mr Vincent Abobo, PDP Ward 9 chairman and Mr. Isaac Atikpakpa, the Vice Chairman, councilors, Women Leaders, Youth Leaders amongst others, noted that Gbagi, is a true son of Urhobo land.
Said he: “Many of us have failed our Urhobo nation but today I find in you the quality of an Urhobo man. It is my prayers that this race you have delved into, may God’s hands be seen in it.
“You have been there since the party was formed and you have not cross carpeted. This governorship ticket you are vying for, will take you to Asaba. Urhobo is in support”, Olorogun Ighomena, declared.
Earlier, the eloquent leading governorship aspirant, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, who held the audience spell bound, told them that he is in the race to change the narrative.
Gbagi, said he was determined with his high level of connection, to bring investors who would revamp the ailing industries across the state, noting that Oghara, alone would yield his administration over N3 billion with the kind of investment he would bring to bear when elected governor.
“I want to build on the values, infrastructure and what Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has done but with a sharp difference, mine is industry base”, he announced.
The largest private entrepreneur in the state who spoke with so much vigor and enthusiasm, said his government, would be investors friendly.
“When I take over as I will take over in May 29th 2023, we will embrace our investors”, adding that the local government areas would be more of competition that would create enough job opportunities for the teeming youths.
“We are going to transfer power more to the local governments for us to develop the entire state.
“My ambition is sacrifice, to come and work and change the situation. I have the connection”, the Industrialist, re-echoed.
