The Anglican Bishop on the Niger, Anambra State, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Owen Nwokolo, has lamented that the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB’s Monday sit-at-home in the Southeast zone still persists despite the alleged claim by IPOB that it has suspended the exercise.

Making the lamentation during his Christmas message, the cleric  expressed worry that, “the persistent Monday sit-at-home doesn’t do good to us, our children no longer go to school on Mondays.

The West African examination they take if our children don’t take it, it doesn’t concern West Africa.”

“Banks, markets, shops, offices, among others should open. I know there is fear in the land that if they open hoodlums under the guise of IPOB may strike and loot their wares.

Government should put in place enabling environ to forestall such attacks if any as the persistent Monday sit-at-home no longer does good to us but harm, it is an ill wind that blows nobody good” he stated.

He however urged Christians to rely on God for whatever condition they may find themselves stating that it was a matter of time as no condition is permanent.

“Jesus is born to save His people from their sin. We know that in this country today kidnapping, armed robbery, banditry, assassination, nepotism, among others have become the order of the day but we shall not lose hope”

“God who is the author and finisher of our faith will continue to save His people especially in times like this. We have hope that a saviour has been born and all these problems will be over. Do not be afraid for He is born to save you”

He however expressed satisfaction with the conduct of elections these days by the umpire body adding, “Nigeria is growing even if we had our Independence many years ego. There is improvement in election conduct by the umpire body.
