Social media giant, Facebook, is getting abuzz that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta state is allegedly perfecting plans to move his political structure to the national ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
Fejiro Oliver, who claims to be faster than even government officials in getting first hand information on happenings in Delta state has posted, sending shivers down the spine of supporters and aides of Oborevwori that the governor is holding meetings and concluding plans with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to move over to the APC.
He alleged that meetings have been held and still ongoing, adding that the governor is waiting for the nod of the president for him to switch over to the reigning party. The revelation is rattling members of the PDP in the state.
While Fejiro Oliver seems to speak with some degree of authenticity and authority, supporters of the governor and some of his appointees have dismissed his post with a wave of the hand.
They are of the view that Governor Oborevwori does not have any reason to move over to APC seeing he has all the arsenals to win the 2027 governorship election in the state. To his shivering supporters, the APC has no weight in Delta state, hence the governor allegedly moving to APC is not the best decision for the governor at this material time.
Some argue that governors cannot be trusted, insisting that governors are after their personal interest and not the interest of the public who they are elected to serve. To this group, Oborevwori may have studied the political pendulum and concluded that with the move of the APC, the party is poised to capture Delta in the 2027 election. And to save his political career from untimely death, it is good to move now that it is still possible. This argument may not be altogether wrong.
While the argument of the authenticity of the post continues to generate ripples, Fejiro Oliver released another post, revealing many revelations he made before they came to light. He insisted that his post is true. He itemised different officers he predicted their moves which eventually came to pass.
