Massive crowd of supporters in Issele-Uku, Aniocha North local government area, on Wednesday, 15 February, 2023, ushered Prince Ned Nwoko, the Delta North People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate, and his delectable wife, Mrs Regina Daniels-Nwoko, to a rousing welcome, as they stormed the popular Afor market to rally support for PDP.
Trading activities were put on hold as traders rushed out to cheer the senatorial candidate and also get a glimpse of his actress wife, Regina.
Nwoko was spotted waving and exchanging pleasantries with the people, alongside Engr. Emeka Nwaobi, the Aniocha North PDP House of Assembly candidate.
It wasn’t surprising to see most of the traders saluting Nwoko in his native greetings “Nwadei”, as the senatorial candidate’s country home, Mount Ned, in Idumuje-Ugboko, is a place that plays host to hundreds of people from different communities across the local government area on daily basis, hence, the familiarity.
Taking a pause from waving at the eager crowd, Nwoko took to the mic to urge the people to vote PDP in all five political offices, especially the presidency which the election holds on 25th February.
“I have always been comfortable having you all around in my place. I am even more excited being here with you today. I am happy being in your midst.
“Going to the senate won’t change this aspect of me. This is who I am. If I become a senator, we will still meet like this.
“I love my people and nothing will give me more joy than having the political power to do more things for them.
“As a senator, I will do my best to see that Anioma feels good and responsive governance. The ones I cannot do, I will take them to the Governor. The ones the Governor cannot do, he will take them to the President.
“Now you understand my quest for complete team. If you mismatch your votes, and we have candidates who are not PDP members occupy any political office, it will not be easy for me to take our issues to them. They may likely not approve the projects I hope to execute as your senator because they are not part of their own plans.
“It is very necessary you vote PDP 5/5. That is the only way I can function effectively as a senator.” Nwoko said.
On her part, Mrs Regina Nwoko, distributed numbers of Ankara materials (African print) to the excited market women. The household name actress was seen continously waving to the excited crowd who were enchanted by her presence and reaching out her hands to grab as man fans’ hands as she could.
Queen Ekwemuka, one of Nwoko’s beneficiaries, saw the gathering as an opportunity to testify how Nwoko helped with her surgery bills and offered her a grant to start up a business.
She said, “If not for Ned, I would have probably been a cripple by now and kissed my dreams goodbye.
“I had accident and broke my legs, and they required surgery before I could walk again. I sought help from Ned. He did not only pay for my surgery, he gave me extra money to start up a business after full recovery.
“The day I came to seek for his help, I was not the only one that came. There were many people who came for help too. He sorted everyone, and even did more.”
Ekwemuka affirmed that, because she trusts Nwoko’s judgement and believes so much in him, she will vote PDP all the way.
She stressed that, if Nwoko could do so much for people from his personal pocket, then with his idea of complete team and political power to represent the people, he would do even more.
