Job vacancies: Sports University of Nigeria is hiring staff for these positions (click to see)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and interested candidates to fill the following vacant positions in the SPORTS UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA. The university is situated at Idumuje-Ugboko in Delta state. The trajectory of the university is to afford Nigerian sports men and women an articulated world class training environment including quality university education. This is historic as the first Sports University in Nigeria and Sub-Sahara Africa, where sports and academics are given equal attention.

VACANCIES IN THE FOLLOWING ACADEMIC POSITIONS:
FACULTY OF SPORTS SCIENCES:

FACULTY OF SCIENCE:
• MICROBIOLOGY
• BIOCHEMISTRY

• COMPUTER SCIENCE

ACADEMIC STAFF POSITIONS
1. ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/PROFESSOR
Applicants must possess a minimum of Ph.D. Degree in the field of study. Applicant should also have a minimum of 10 years post cognate teaching and research experience at the University level for Professors and 9 years for Associate Professors. Applicant should be a scholar of high repute with considerable publications in reputable and peer reviewed Journals. Evidence of registration with relevant professional bodies would be an added advantage.

2. SENIOR LECTURER:
Applicants must possess good first degree, Master’s degree and Ph.D. in field of study with at least five (5) years cognate teaching and research experience (two of which must have been spent as Lecturer I). Applicants must have acceptable number of publications in reputable learned journals. Membership of relevant professional bodies would be an added advantage.

3. LECTURER 1:
Applicants must possess good first degree, Master’s degree and Ph.D. in field of study with at least three (3) years cognate teaching and research experience (two of which must have been spent as Lecturer II). Applicants must have acceptable number of publications in reputable learned journals. Membership of relevant professional bodies would be an added advantage.

4. LECTURER II
Applicants must possess Ph.D. degree in field of study and membership of relevant professional bodies would be an added advantage.

ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS
REGISTRAR
Applicants must possess a minimum of B.Sc. Degree with at least 10 years cognate experience. Applicant must possess strong computer literacy with database familiarity, excellent organizational skills, good interpersonal and communication skills.

BURSAR
Applicants must possess a minimum of B.Sc. Degree in accounting, Business Administration or relevant degree with at least 10 years proven work experience in the University or Financial Institution, computer literacy (MS Excel in particular), strong financial management skills, knowledge of accounting procedures and best practices, familiar with budget preparation and cash flow management and certification with professional body.

LIBRARIAN
Applicants must possess a minimum of B.Sc. Degree accredited by the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) with 10 years cognate experience. Applicants must possess strong IT skills and familiarity with the use of databases and the internet, good communication skill and the ability to work with people with range of backgrounds and with a range of needs.

ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS
Applicants must possess a minimum of Bachelor’s Degree with a proven knowledge of working in a corporate environment, excellent organizational skills, good interpersonal communication skills and also the unique ability to multitask. Computer literacy is an added advantage

TECHNOLOGIST IN THE FOLLOWING POSITIONS:
PUBLIC HEALTH
BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES
CHEMISTRY
PHYSICS
COMPUTER SCIENCE
Applicants must possess a B.Sc. Degree in the relevant subject area and a minimum 0f 2 years cognate experience. Certification from their professional body will be an added advantage

MEDICAL OFFICERS
DOCTORS
Applicants must possess an MBBS or MD certified by Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) with a minimum of 5 years practicing experience in a corporate environment.

NURSES
Applicants must possess a B.Sc. Degree in Nursing certified by The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) with a minimum of 5 years practicing experience in a corporate environment.

COACHING STAFF POSITIONS

Applicants must possess a minimum of 5 years coaching experience in the position the applicant is applying for, and should possess the required licensing issued by the relevant professional body of that sport.

ASSISTANT COACH:
Applicant must have a proven record of having excelled not only as an athlete, but also as an assistant coach in the sport for which the applicant is applying for.
