A high court in Oyo state has barred the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami and the Department of State Security Services from arresting Yoruba nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo alias Sunday Igboho.
POLITICS NIGERIA learnt that on Wednesday, Presiding Judge, Justice Ladiean Akintola, approved an ex-parte motion restraining AGF Malami, and the DSS from harassing, intimidating, arresting and blocking bank accounts belonging to Igboho.
The ex-parte motion was filed by Igboho’s lawyer, Chief Yomi Aliu (SAN). Speaking on the case, Aliyu disclosed that with the order, Igboho’s bank accounts cannot be frozen.
“The court has ordered that he must not be arrested or detained in the next 14 days. The court also said that his account should not be blocked,”.
It can be recalled that Igboho sued the DSS and the federal government, seeking N500 billion damages for invasion of his house in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, last month.
