The Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) has said due to another explosion that occurred at Asaba Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on Wednesday night, the entire Delta North has been thrown into darkness.
Public Relations Officer of Asaba office of BEDC, Esther Okolie, made the revelation on her facebook page on Wednesday night at about 8.50pm. She said the Delta North has been into darkness and that BEDC regrets the inconvenience the development will cause residence in the area.
Emerald News reports that Delta comprises Oshimili South, Oshimili North, Aniocha North, Aniocha South, Ika South, Ika North East, Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West and Ukwuani local government areas of Delta state.
As at the time of filing this report, people are asking her questions on her facebook page, she has not given any response. Some are asking what is the cause of the frequentexplosion and how long will it take to resolve.
Another said the development is not new as people in the state have been having skeletal power when there is no explosion. The individual said the entire system needs be overhauled.
He said BEDC remains the worse power distribution business in Nigeria.
However, someone living in Agbor, Ika South local government area, said it’s like Agbor is not part of Delta North as the BEDC power supply was giving light in Agbor as at the time the report was made
