The governor of Cross State, Professor Ben Stade, has dumped the People’s Democratic party PDP and joined the ruling All Progressive Congress APC.
He made the announcement on Thursday morning some APC governors visited him at the Cross Rivers State Government House.
Ben Stade has been having running battle with the PDP in the zone for over a period of time now. So, his defection is no news to many political watchers in the nation.
With his defection, becomes the only APC governor in the South South Region of Nigeria. Edo state was the only state bit with the defection of Godwin Obaseki of Edo state, the region was fully PDP.
There are two APC governors in the East. Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi state and Hope Uzodinma of Imo state.
