Three persons were on Sunday evening injured in a gas tanker explosion that happened near Berger Yard along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
According to reports, the fire was caused by a Liquefied Petroleum Gas tanker moving towards Sagamu Interchange on the outward Lagos segment of the expressway.
Although the real reason for the tanker explosion is yet to be learned as of the hour of this report, reports have it that a vehicle was burnt.
Fortunately, FRSC operatives from the Sagamu and Mowe Unit Commands were allegedly quickly deployed to the scene. .
Confirming the incident, Ahmed Umar, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command said the three injured persons have been taken to the Idera hospital in Sagamu town.
While stating that firefighters from the Ogun State Fire Service have intervened to bring the situation under control, Ahmed advised motorists to remain calm, disciplined and cooperate with traffic managers to avoid a secondary explosion.
He said;
”FRSC Ogun Sector Command wishes to inform the motoring public on the traffic situation along Lagos-Ibadan expressway of a burning tanker laden with gas that resulted to fire incident around Danco.”
”FRSC rescue team and fire service are fully on the ground managing the situation. Traffic has been diverted to avoid ‘secondary crash’.
Motorists are advised to remain calm, disciplined, and cooperate with traffic managers”.
