The two Essence crooners Wizkid and Tems have bagged a total of four joint nominations after organisers of the Soul Train awards announced nominees for the 2021 edition of the annual entertainment award.
The nominations, which were announced on November 2, 2021, had Wizkid bagging five nominations and Tems, his collaboration on the hit summer song, Essence, having four nominations.
For their collaborative effort on Essence, Wizkid’s and Tems were nominated in the Song of The Year category, Video of The Year category, The Ashford and Simpson songwriter’s award, and Best Collaboration for the groundbreaking single.
Consequently, Wizkid also had a nomination for Album of The Year, for Made In Lagos while Tems bagged another nomination for Best New Artist.
Soul Train Music Awards is an annual music awards show, which honors the best in African-American culture music and entertainment.
It will be holding on November 20 at the Apollo Theatre.
