Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Saturday took a bold step to strengthen the All Progressives Congress, (APC) at the ward level when he hosted Idumuje ward 8 stakeholders/leaders at his country home.
Addressing the kinsmen at his Mount Ned residential resort, Idumuje Ugboko, Senator Nwoko said he convened the meeting to foster unity and oneness “significant for the consolidation of APC at the grassroots”
Senator Nwoko enjoined the ward stakeholders to mobilize the people in supporting the ruling APC government at all levels under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.
The federal lawmaker informed the stakeholders that he had initiated key projects including access roads, earth dam, school buildings and solar -powered electricity at Idumuje clan as well as employment opportunities and skill acquisition programmes for the people.
Senator Nwoko stated that similar social infrastructure and manpower development have also been provided across Delta North Senatorial District as part of his commitment to rural and urban development.
He announced the setting up of a project monitoring and implementation committee at the ward 8 comprising Idumuje Unor, Idumuje Ugboko and Aniofu to aid Needs Assessment and equitable distribution of amenities.
On his advocacy for the creation of Anioma state, Senator Nwoko said his enthusiasm is at highest ebb, noting that critical authorities, including “the Tinubu administration, Senate and diverse socio- cultural groups across the country have given necessary support.”
He said the “agitation for Anioma state remained the oldest in Nigeria beginning from 1954” and assured of his determination to actualize it, calling for support from all quarters.
Senator Nwoko said his commitment to Anioma state creation was not for self aggrandizement but equity, social justice and identity.
He also told his kinsmen that an enlarged meeting of all members of the ward would be convened on Monday 1st of September to deliberate and forge a common front for the good of all.
Various speakers at the Idumuje Ward 8 APC stakeholders meeting pledged dedication to the APC and support to the Senator towards betterment of the people.
