From Wednesday, December 29 to Monday, January 3, all MTN service centers in Ghana will be closed to serve customers.
The telecom giant is closing down service centers due to the increasing spread of the Omicron variant of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to the company.

“The closure of the Service Centres is part of broader measures taken by the business to stem the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in light of the new Omicron variant, which has been proven to have a higher transmissibility rate,” MTN said in a statement released on Sunday, December 26.

To ensure that customers continue to use the company’s services despite the shutdown, the statement encouraged them to use the company’s digital platforms.

“The company will take advantage of this opportunity to encourage customers to use our digital channels during the store’s closure.”

“Among the channels are the company’s official social media handles, which are as follows: Twitter: @MTNGhana or @AskMTNGhana; Facebook: MTNGhana; and WhatsApp: 0554300000 and 0555300000.” Customers can also contact MTN by dialing the toll-free number 100. MyMTN App and Ayoba are two other apps that can be used during and after this time period.”

According to the Ghana Health Service, an additional 1, 324 people have been infected with Covid-19, bringing the total number of active cases to 6, 361.

According to the Ghana Health Service, 137,760 cases of the virus have been confirmed in Ghana, and a total of 1,277 people have died as a result of infection
