The Notre Dame College Ozoro Old Boys Association (NODACOBA) has described the death of a former electoral commissioner in the defunct Bendel state and its pioneer president, Olorogun Atuyota Ejughemre, as a great loss to the country particularly Delta state.
NODACOBA, who described the late Olorogun Ejughemre as a bridge-builder, said the deceased made immeasurable contribution to his alma mater, Notre Dame College Ozoro.
In a condolence statement signed by its National President, Sir. Leo Onogberie, and National Secretary General, Sir. Emma Ekwerigbe, NODACOBA said the Ejughemre would greatly be missed by members of the association.
Ejughemre, who was also a director with defunct Allied Bank of Nigeria and senior traditional chief of Ughelli Kingdom, Delta State, died on July 20, 2020.
The statement commiserated with the Ejughemre family of Oteri community in Ughelli Kingdom of Ughelli North local government area of the state.
“The National Executive Council and entire members of Notre Dame College Ozoro Old Boys Association (NODACOBA) with grief and pain in our hearts mourn and commiserate with the Ejughemre family of Oteri community in Ughelli Kingdom, friends, political and educational associates, school mates, distinguished personalities, friends and acquaintances across the country/globe and well-wishers of our former National President, Brother, Uncle, Daddy, Teacher, Leader, Mentor and Fellow Old Boy – Olorogun Atuyota Ejughemre, JP of Class 1965, NDC Ozoro, otherwise known as NODACO varsity.
“Olorogun Atuyota EJUGHEMRE was a man of many parts. An astute Educationist, Politician, a Great Custodian of Urhobo Custom/Tradition, an Orator and a Great Socialite. He was at a time Electoral Commissioner in the defunct Bendel State of Nigeria. A director in former Allied Bank of Nigeria, former spokesman of Urhobo Traditional Council of Chiefs and till his last day on earth chairman, Facilitator of Stronger Ties between Urhobo and Isoko Ethnic nationalities.
“He was also a title holder in the Bornu caliphate (Northern Nigeria). He was a jolly good fellow and a man of the people. Till death, he was an active, committed and dedicated member of Notre Dame College Ozoro Old Boys Association (NODACOBA).
“He was always there for our Alma Mater, Old Boys Association and members (young and old). We shall no doubt miss his immeasurable role and contributions in the Association and our Alma Mater”, NODACOBA added in the statement.
The statement while commiserating with entire Ejughemre family of Oteri Community, Ughelli Kingdom and Onwa Ogbogbo family of Effurun Otor Kingdom, prayed God to grant its former President eternal rest and the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
