Hon. Prince Ned Nwoko, the Delta North People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate, on Sunday, 8 January, 2023, hosted Delta North Christian association group, at Mount Ned, Idumuje Ugboko, Delta state.
According to the Director General, Ned Nwoko campaign organisation, Hon. Pascal Adigwe, the meeting was borne out of the desire of the senatorial candidate to interface with the Christian family in the senatorial district, to hear their views on public issues, and also, to carry them along in all political activities that bothers within Delta North.
Nwoko, during the interactive session with the Christian family, shared insights on responsive governance, whilst maintaining that, humanity is the most important thing in life, irrespective of class and religion.
He said, “The most important thing in life is humanity. The ability to love and support one another, irrespective of class and religion. Good governance requires humanity.
“I am lucky to have spent most of my years abroad. I was opportuned to attend some of the best universities in United Kingdom. That, left me with some level of exposure as regards governance.
“I witnessed what it is to have a responsive governance. Over there, government make life easier for the people. With country database, everything is planned. A fresh graduate can easily get a loan to start up a business, and be self-reliant. Why can’t we have such in Nigeria?
“I believe that a time will come when Nigeria will be governed by people who have the fear of God, and that time is now.
“Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, are people I know very well. People I can vouch for to bring positive change in Nigeria. People I know that they have what it takes to be at the presidency. And most importantly, people I can easily have access to.
“As a senatorial candidate, who is looking forward to representing the people productively, I have many workable plans that will benefit the people, but I cannot achieve them alone. I need my complete team to win all five political offices, most importantly, the presidency.
“With Atiku and Okowa, at the presidency, most of the bills I will push as a senator, can be easily taken as executive bills. This will facilitate the actualization of most promises made during campaign.
“Having another party occupy the presidential position, will cripple my plans. It will be unfair to come back after four years, and seek your support again, without fulfilling the present promises.
“I need your support, I need the people to understand what responsive governance is all about.” Nwoko added.
Bishop Greatman Nmalagu, addressing the Christian family, stated why the church must stand with PDP, stressing that All Progressives Congress, APC, deception should not be given another chance to bloom.
In Nmalagu’s words, “It is high time we as a Christian family, came out from our shells and take the bulls by the horn. APC deception was so bad that they entered and started killing Christians.
“It is time to rescue this nation. Time to make genuine change. We should not live the next four years blaming God for the wrong choice we made. This is time for us to stand with Ned, and support him.
“Bringing another party into Delta state, is like bringing another problem into the state. First, they will disorganise the system and we would be left to suffer it.
“I am using this opportunity to encourage us as a church to stand with PDP.”
The meeting was well honoured by myriad of Christian clerics across the nine local government areas in Delta North. They include; Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, Delta North, Bishop Chuks Okonta, Bishop Martins Nwachukwu, Bishop Triumph Osian, Lady Promise Itabor, Pastor Mrs. Ike-Bolu, Pastor Donatus Olufemi, Pastor Prince Nmalagu, Pastor Lauretta Onuma, Rev. Edgar Onyebuchie, Rev. John Achonwu, Bishop Adolor Godwin, amongst others.
