The Delta North People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate, Prince Ned Nwoko, has revealed why he chose to return to Nigeria, despite having a good life in the United Kingdom.
The legal-consultant-cum-politician, made the revelation while addressing guests, during the grand opening of Amsterdam club lounge and bar, at Agbor, Delta state, on Friday, 23 December, 2022.
Egbon Isioma, the owner of the lounge and bar, had decided to come back to Nigeria, to start up a business for himself, after spending 19 years abroad.
Addressing the guests, Nwoko said that, what Isioma did is very commendable, stressing that, his reason for coming back to Nigeria is to create something different, and contribute in making Nigeria look like places abroad.
In his words, “This is very commendable. You’re already contributing to the growth of the economy in Delta state, because, this will create a lot of job opportunities for many.
“I like to see everyone who has spent time abroad to always find their way home. I was in UK for many years. I left Nigeria very young, I did my Law degrees, my History degrees, went to Law school, qualified, practiced for many years, and I was living very comfortably. To the extent that at some point, I was thinking that I wasn’t going to come back to Nigeria.
“Just like others, I was saying Nigeria is very bad. You know all the bad stuff they say about Nigeria. All these were actually a reflection of our actual reality. But, I had a rethink.
“I felt that, it is people like you and I that come home and make our society to be like places abroad. If we don’t create something different, no one will do it for us. So, I will personally support you in any way that you want me to, to ensure that you thrive in this business.
“This is highly commendable,” Nwoko added.
