Alhaji Aminu Dantata, a Kano-based business mogul has on Thursday stated that Nigerians now consider money more than core values of life.
He said this while receiving members of the Northern Elders Forum led by the Convener, Prof. Ango Abdullahi on a condolence visit over the death of Alhaji Bashir Tofa, Nigeria’s prominent politician.
In his speech, Alhaji Aminu Dantata noted that core values must return to avert the negative occurrences witnessed in the society.
“Values have gone down; people consider money more than core values and that is why many negative things are happening in the country that require urgent attention.” He said.
Dantata proceeded to advise the Northern Elders Forum to keep working together with governments and other stakeholders to resolve the issues confronting the district and the country.
He additionally noticed that the wake-up call had become necessary so that the elite would strive to leave behind a prosperous country for the young.
The business mogul also called on Nigerian politicians to do away with destructive criticisms.
“We are going nowhere with the kind of politics we are having today. “We must change the narrative if we are to salvage the nation’s polity,” he said.
