A respected Delta elder statesman and industrialist, Olorogun Morrison Olori, has called on all politicians nursing governorship ambitions for 2027 to abandon their plans and throw their full support behind Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
Olori made the declaration during a goodwill visit by the governor to his residence in Ughelli North Local Government Area, where both leaders reviewed the administration’s development efforts across Delta State.
Describing Oborevwori’s performance as outstanding, Olori praised the governor for what he called visible and impactful projects, especially across the Urhobo nation.
“I hosted him because of what he is doing in our dear state. His performance is spectacular,” Olori told journalists. “What Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is doing across Delta State and the Urhobo nation is fantastic, and that is why I am proud to host him.”
The elder statesman went further by urging anyone considering a challenge in 2027 to withdraw in the interest of continuity.
“Nobody should vote for another person. If anybody has interest in contesting, he should turn it down so that our digital governor can complete his eight-year tenure,” Olori said.
He also noted that the governor’s achievements have gained national recognition, adding that President Bola Tinubu and Nigerians across the country are closely watching Oborevwori’s performance.
“There is no person in Nigeria that is not seeing what Governor Sheriff is doing. He is performing 100 percent and doing everything possible to move Delta State forward,” he said.
Olori expressed personal pride in being identified as one of the governor’s strongest supporters, explaining that his backing was driven purely by Oborevwori’s record in office.
Governor Oborevwori’s visit to the elder statesman is seen as another sign of growing political momentum ahead of the 2027 elections, as influential leaders and stakeholders continue to line up behind his second-term bid.
