A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Policy Adviser to Senator Ned Nwoko representing Delta North at the National Assembly, Chief Emmanuel Afam Eboh, has described the recent meeting between Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and former Deputy Senate President, Obaisi Ovie Omo-Agege as a “significant peace-building relationship” that would strengthen the party structure in the state for improved dividends of democracy.
Governor Oborevwori and Omo Agege, his fiercest political contender in Delta 2023 governorship elections met penultimate week at a public event in Warri where they had convivial discussions on party leadership and supremacy.
Chief Eboh in a statement at Abuja said the encounter between both prominent personalities was “a profound gesture of peace and political cohesion” to the advantage of the state.
He said Oborevwori proved his humility and good breeding by extending hand of fellowship to the ex deputy senate president, recognizing the importance of inclusive governance.
Chief Eboh also noted that “Omo-Agege’s acknowledgment of the governor as the party leader in the state demonstrated brotherly love and politics without bitterness.”
According to Eboh, the engagement of Oborevwori and Omo Agege “would help to douse political tension in the state and engender social order among the generality of the people.”
He said Oborevwori’s leadership style has created an atmosphere of calm in Delta political landscape and noted that he had lived up to his promise to serve as governor of all Deltans.
Chief Eboh urged the governor to continue to take steps that would bring all political stakeholders together for a peaceful, united party ahead of 2027 general elections.
The Delta APC stalwart charged all members of the party to emulate the liberal posture of the governor and emphasized that dialogue, acceptance and reconciliation were the keys to fostering popular democracy.
