The Urhobo Progress Union Worldwide (UPU) has extended warm birthday felicitations to the Ovie of Udu Kingdom, Michael Ogheneovo Orugbo, describing him as a beacon of exemplary traditional leadership.
In a statement issued under the leadership of its President-General, Ese Gam Owe, the union praised the monarch for his enduring commitment to peace, unity, and development within Udu Kingdom and the broader Urhobo nation.
The UPU highlighted the monarch’s reign as one marked by stability and progress, noting that his leadership has significantly strengthened cultural preservation and fostered harmonious coexistence among his people.
According to the statement, the king continues to embody values of wisdom, courage, and selfless service.
“As a revered traditional ruler, His Royal Majesty has remained a shining example of purposeful leadership, promoting peace and safeguarding the rich heritage of the Urhobo people,” the statement read.
The union also offered prayers for the monarch’s continued good health, wisdom, and prosperity, expressing hope that his reign would witness even greater achievements and sustained peace.
The message was signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the union, Kehinde Prince Taiga, who reiterated the organization’s goodwill toward the monarch on his special day.
The UPU reaffirmed its support for the traditional institution, wishing long life to the Ovie, enduring progress for Udu Kingdom, and continued unity for the Urhobo nation.
