A former chieftain of the All Progressives Congress  ( APC) in Delta state,  Chief Dr. Abeye Cyril Ogodo, who defected to the Peoples Democratic Party alongside well over 10, OOO Deltans on Saturday has apologised to Nigerians for being a part of what he described “as the most wicked and corrupt party in the country. “

Chief Ogodo who fielded questions from journalists at the Cenotaph in Asaba immediately after he addressed mammoth crowd of PDP faithful at a mega rally of the party said he decided to leave the APC having realised that he  has been wallowing in the dark.

He said: “I have seen the light because the light is here. I want to leave Egypt which was my previous darkness. I have left the Pharaoh. I have left the leaderships which cannot provide for their people.  I have left the circle where there is massive corruption. I have left the people where there is an uncontrolled hunger and all associated evil.”

He remarked further,  “I use today to apologise to all Deltans and Nigerians for being part of APC corrupt government. I apologise to Nigerians for being part of the government that brought pains to everyone in the country. It is a wicked party. It is a party that should not come back to rule Nigeria again.  By the grace of God, they will not see presidency again.”

He added: “From 2023, it will be very difficult for them  to rule. All my followers of about 10, 000 Nigerians are already here with me. APC is already dead and collapsed in Delta state.

“I created APC in Delta state.  I went through over 280 wards in Delta state to create the party. Anyone still in APC should resign except all those who want to remain as a part of this wicked government in this country.”

He called on Deltans to continue their support and prayers for Governor Okowa’s PDP government which he claimed   “has transformed the entire state through landmark and enduring development.”

Chief Ogodo advised  APC states in Nigeria to reverse the trend of administration in their respective states by doing  all it takes to impart meaningful life on their people and stop the current hunger, insecurity and other ills in the system.

One of those who defected to PDP with their leader, Miss Helen Izu,  told journalists that they decided to join the moving train of PDP because they had realised that they were in a wrong party but only waiting for their master to blow the whistle for them to move.

The former APC Sapele ward 9 woman leader assured that they will mobilize and support any sellable candidate in the next election for PDP  which is now their present party.
