The Executive Assistant to the Delta state Governor on Youth Development, Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi has, alongside the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Delta State Chapter, led by Comr. Okorie Kenneth, charged youths in Delta state to always resolve issues amicably, void of violence.
The charge came when the State Chairman of the National Youth Council paid a courtesy visit to Hon Ezechi, to intimate him of the councils forthcoming youth sensitization against violence.
Speaking, Comr. Okorie noted that with the prevailing destruction of life and properties by unknown gunmen, who are most likely young Nigerians, the leadership of youths within the state should not wait till it happens before doing something, stating that all hands has to be on deck to forestall any public disturbance or unrest within the state.
Addressing the delegation, Hon. Ezechi stated that youth leaders generally must not use the fire alarm approach to solving issues.
He noted that the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, being a youth friendly one has appointed proactive leaders to man offices that affects youth.
This, he said, has curtailed a lot of crisis in the state. He added that Youths have to be open for dialogue in conflict resolution, this he said would always bring the best results that would favor both parties.
The state chairman further used the opportunity to request for a bus for the youth council in the South South zone which he heads as the Zonal Chairman stating that with the availability of a bus, it would be easier to mobilize to quell impending crisis within the zone that have the possibility of spiraling into the state.
In his response, the vibrant aide to the governor promised to do all within his power to ensure that the council gets a good bus as soon as possible.
