As women across the world celebrate the 2021 edition of International Women’s Day, wife of the Delta state governor, Dame Edith Okowa and Founder, O5 Initiative, has encouraged women to stay strong and never give up their passion to build peaceful homes and effect global change.
Dame Okowa leaning on the theme for this year’s celebration “CHOOSE TO CHALLENGE”, in a statement signed by her Media Assistant, Mrs Alicia Dominic-Okobi, harped on the need for women to see challenges as opportunities to achieve greater heights through good works.
According to the First Lady, “the world is full of challenges and women go through these challenges at work place, family and society but the joy of it all is that, we come out stronger. Women are co-creators, nation and family builders; we cannot afford to abuse this privilege divinely assigned to us.
“As we look forward to a better future, I urge you to see it as a point of duty to positively challenge one another to good works. Let us stand for one another, speak for and not against one another, be optimistic about another, by so doing; we can build a world of peace and harmony.
“Let me use this medium to salute our sisters who are faced with various life challenges; never give up! Stay strong, this will soon pass.
“It is therefore my prayer that the Lord will give every woman the grace to succeed in life.
“As I join the rest of the world to celebrate the International Women’s Day 2021, I wish to congratulate all Women on this beautiful occasion and wish you all a happy celebration.”
