Through her initiatives, “Women Allying Women” and the “Royal Iwere Foundation,” she organized an entrepreneurship and leadership training program dubbed “Established Her Enterprise,” designed specifically for women in Warri.
The event, which took place at the palace on Thursday, was aimed at equipping women with the skills necessary to succeed in entrepreneurship and leadership roles.
Addressing the attendees, Her Royal Majesty Olori Atuwatse III emphasized the crucial role women play in nation-building, urging them to embrace leadership and entrepreneurial skills in a world where innovation and ideas are paramount.
Olori Atuwatse III stated that women are the pride of African culture and tradition, adding that a society that neglects the identity of women risks undermining its own respect and growth.
She further explained that “Elevate Africa,” in partnership with the Royal Iwere Foundation, is built on the mission of providing young women, particularly in Delta State, with the tools and knowledge they need to take their rightful place in society and contribute to their communities, state, and country.
She pointed out that the women participating in the Elevate Africa Fellowship, who are drawn from various parts of the African continent, would benefit from the expertise of specialists in different fields of human endeavor. Her Majesty urged the participants to take full advantage of the program in order to gain the essential skills that would propel them forward in life.
In separate interviews, several young women who attended the training shared their positive experiences. Favour Shoba expressed how Elevate Africa and the Iwere Foundation have been invaluable in helping her develop her entrepreneurial skills. She noted that the ideas and lessons she has learned so far will be directly applied to her business, ensuring its growth and success.
Esther Okorafor also praised the program, saying it has reshaped her approach to business. “I’ve learned that we must have access to the market before we can make a real impact and see results,” she said. Other participants, including Sharon Amajuwa Ekurene, echoed similar sentiments, thanking Her Majesty for creating such an opportunity for their personal and professional growth.
Earlier in the day, at the Clever-mind Educational Centre, which is part of His Royal Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III’s efforts to positively influence the future of children, the Programme Adviser, Femi Taiwo, spoke on the royal couple’s deep passion for fostering young talent. He highlighted that both His Majesty and Olori Atuwatse III are dedicated to helping young people, especially children, prepare for the future through their foundations.
Taiwo also praised the day’s program, noting that it served as a clear demonstration of the great work the foundations are doing for Warri Kingdom, the state of Delta, and the country. He emphasized the importance of equipping young women with the tools needed for entrepreneurship and leadership.
The program concluded with an interactive session where members of the Elevate Africa Fellowship shared insights on various topics. Two attendees, who successfully pitched their businesses, were each awarded #500,000 to support their ventures.
The event was a resounding success, reinforcing the ongoing impact of the Royal Iwere Foundation and Elevate Africa Fellowship in empowering women and shaping the future of communities in Delta State and beyond.
