One year in office: UPU youthwing thumbs up for Omo-Agege, other Urhobo federal lawmakers

The leadership of the youth wing of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) has felicitated with the four federal lawmakers representing the Urhobo nation which Delta central senatorial district of Delta state.

The lawmakers are Senator Ovie Omo-Agege representing the Delta central in the senate, Rev. Francis Ejiroghene Waive, Ben Igbakpa and Efe Afe representing Ughelli North, South and Udu, Ethiope East and West and Sapele, Uwvie and Okpe respectively in the federal House of Representatives.

President of UPU youth wing, Comrade Efemena Kelly Umukoro, congratulated the four federal lawmakers from Urhoboland having completed one year of lawmaking at the upper and lower chambers of the National Assembly.

Comrade Umukoro said the four have achieved much in their one year in office as representatives of the Urhobo people of Delta state. He said the lawmakers have raised the bar of legislative representation of Urhobo people in the national assembly.

He said the emergence of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege as deputy senate president is a pride to the Urhobo people and worthy of celebration by the Urhobos both at home in the Diaspora. He specifically commended him for lending his voice on all issues of national importance.

He added that Omo-Agege has restored the pride of the Urhobos in Nigeria’s national politics.

On the other hand, he said the trio of Hon. Ben Igbakpa, Hon. Ejiroghene Francis Waive and Hon Efe Afe have as well made significant contributions to debates on the floor of the House of Representatives, thereby projecting their people and not letting them down.

He said their level of cooperation and solidarity with each other as Urhobo federal lawmakers has been a topnotch and very much commendable. He said it tallies with the slogan “Urhobo Ovuovo”.

He said their voices have been very loud at the Federal House of Representatives.

Umukoro said:  “With the forgoing reasons, coupled with their of their utmost patriotism to Urhobo nation, on behalf of the UPU youthwing worldwide, we wish to felicitate with these four Urhobo gentle giants who are making Urhobo proud in fa away Abuja

“To our supersonic Senator whom doubles as the deputy president of the 9th Senate and Hon Rev Francis Ejiroghene Waive, Hon Ben Igbakpa and Hon Efe Afe, it is congratulations all the way as you complete one year in office as federal lawmakers.

“It our prayers as a people that God should continually guide and protect you and give you all wisdom and knowledge to lead the Urhobo people to Eldorado.”
