A few minutes interview with the Ika market women group who trooped out in numbers to attend the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) campaign rally, in Abavo, Ika South local government area of Delta state, on Thursday, 17 November, 2022, revealed that the emphatic women have already made up their minds on whom to vote for in the Delta North senatorial election, come 2023.
The women’s group coordinator, Mrs Ngozi Isima, speaking on behalf of the group, stated that they chose Ned Nwoko, the Delta North PDP senatorial candidate, because he is someone they know very well and that he is the best candidate they have.
“God has ordained him (Ned) as the winner already. We, the market women group, Ika South chapter, have unanimously agreed that Ned Nwoko will represent us in the senate, and nothing can stop it. Other parties should not waste their time campaigning in our chapter,” Mrs Isima said.
Similarly, Mrs Cecilia Ogbonyeri, SSA to Governor on women mobilization, pledged her support for Ned Nwoko, stating that this is the time for women inclusion in political activities and offices, and that she is hopeful that if Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, the PDP vice presidential candidate, and Prince Ned Nwoko, get to the federal level, that women would be carried along.
