Following the call by some ex-agitators to arrest those perceived to have fought the Interim Coordinator of Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, Niger Delta rights activist Comrade Ozobo Austin has described ex-agitators calling the arrest of elders, youths, and activists who oppose Ndiomu as traitors, opportunists, gold diggers and people suffering from dementia.
In a statement, Ozobo said no true ex-agitator would call for the arrest of his father, brother, and fellow compatriots who are calling for the revamping and avocation against the attempt to shut down the amnesty programme by Ndiomu and his co-travelers.
He dared them to go and arrest anybody if they and Ndiomu were men enough, adding that they would regret their actions.
The Niger Delta activists said a true agitator would commend those who are agitating to make things good for participants in the amnesty programme.
The statement reads, “These so-called ex-agitators could be likened to witchcrafts who cannot distinguish between the good and the bad.
“I believe they are sick, and suffering from dementia. I called them saboteurs of the amnesty programme. They are not only traitors but fake ex-agitators who came into the programme through backdoors. I called them opportunists because some of these guys were never involved in the struggle but they are only seeking undue attention, to achieve selfish needs.
“So they know nothing about the programme and the struggle. Over 775 ex-agitators were threatened to be evicted from the programme. I and others advocated against it and Ndiomu made a reversal and cleared them. This is the power of advocacy.
“Those calling for the arrest of genuine advocates are enemies of Niger Delta. They are people of no integrity but mischievous people with questionable characters. We will expose some of them very soon. We will invoke the ancestors of the Ijaw nation against traitors, opportunists, gold diggers of the Niger Delta struggle.”
