Senator Ned Munir Nwoko of Delta North senatorial district, alongside his actress wife, Mrs Regina Daniels-Nwoko, on Monday, June 19, attended the 60th birthday ceremony of the Delta state governor, His Excellency, Rt.Hon.Sheriff Oborevwori.
The event which took place at The Dome event centre, Asaba, doubled as the Governor’s birthday reception and also thanksgiving reception for his successful inauguration as the state’s Governor.
In a special report released earlier on by the senator’s media directorate, Nwoko lauded Oborevwori’s leadership qualities and liberal nature. Stating that the landslide victory in the governorship election was evident that Oborevwori’s choice as Delta state governor was generally accepted by Deltans.
The message read, “Oborevwori deserves the celebration of all, because he has not only made us proud but has brought dignity and respectability into governance.
“His acknowledged simplicity and inclusive disposition in leadership made him outstanding.His choice as Governor was generally accepted with his overwhelming victory at the 18th March general elections.
“It is the fervent hope of all Deltans that the new administration would consolidate on the widespread legacies of the predecessor, the Okowa regime, with Oborevwori’s track record of diligence and commitment to leadership through his M.O.R.E Agenda.
“We are indeed proud to have Oborevwori as partner in the sustainance of effective leadership and good governance in Delta State and beyond.
“While wishing the governor resounding congratulations on his 60th birthday anniversary, may God’s guidance lead him on the saddle.”
Recall that in a show of solidarity, the Governor had also graced the inauguration reception of Senator Nwoko, which took place at the senator’s country home, Mount Ned, on Sunday, June 18, where he praised the senator for his humble demeanor and his remarkable skill in forging connections with individuals from diverse backgrounds, irrespective of their social standing.
The cordial relationship between both political leaders sets a positive tone for the duo’s term in office and also a beacon of hope for the people whom they represent.
