The Divisional Crime Officer, Ajayi Matthew, attached to Ode-omu community station, in Ayedaada Local Government Area, Osun state, has allegedly assaulted a female Police inspector, Bamidele Olorunsogo, also attached to the station, over refusal of proposed amorous relationship.
According to THE NATION, Bamidele, narrating the incident in a video that has gone viral said that her boss had made a dating proposal of which she declined because she is married.
Bamidele said her boss went physical on her on Tuesday, in the presence of two Constables and 10 civilians.
She said, “What is my offence? He started beating me. He naked me, he injured me on my chest, hand, his name is Ajayi Matthew because he asked me out and I told him I am married. He started blackmailing me.
“He was telling people around that we were dating and I took offence to it. He battered me in the presence of two constables, ten civilians. He went inside, carried a Dane gun and want to gunned me down. The civilians took out of the office that I should run away but I insisted that if he wants to kill me he should go ahead. Ajayi wants to kill o, pleases assist me o!”
The Commissioner of Police, Osun state, CP Olaleye Faleye, has been directed by the Inspector-general of Police, Usman Alkabi Baba, to investigate the alleged assault.
A statement issued by the Force Public Relation Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, reads: “We will await the report of the investigation from Osun State Police Command before necessary actions are taken. However we assure the general public that justice will be done in the case, to protect the core values and ethics of the NPF.”
