The Nigeria Police Force, NPF, has taken three officers into custody for assaulting a civilian in Rivers State.
Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, on Tuesday, issued a terse statement on the arrest.
The officers are Inspector Adejoh Siaka, Inspector Friday Obaka, and Sergeant Ndiwa Kpuebari.
“These are the men who slapped a man on the road in Rivers,” the police spokesperson noted.
Adejobi said they reported at the Force Headquarters today, announcing that their trial will soon commence.
A viral video of the assault attracted condemnations from members of the public, forcing the police authorities to swing into action.
That’s was a laudable measure taken by the Force headquarters, Abuja against those erring law enforcement personnels who went biserk in Poet Harcourt with a gentleman whom one of the policemen slapped freely and repeatedly in the public. So disgusting scenario.
