Ex-presidential aide, Reno Omokri has reacted after a Chief Supretendient of Police (CSP) openly disobeyed Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s order to vacate the Magogo residential area on Tuesday, January 4.
It would be recalled that the state governor had visited the area after the residents had taken to the street to protest the continuous presence of policemen in the estate.
Some police officers numbering about 50 had a few weeks ago, stormed the estate in the company of some persons believed to be landgrabbers to demolish the houses.
The officers were said to be acting on a court order obtained from the Supreme court. They were however stopped but they have since laid siege in the estate.
It was gathered that after hearing the news about what was happening, Governor Sanwo-Olu arrived in the area in the afternoon and wanted to use his power to stop the officers from going further.
However, when the Chief Security Officer in the state ordered the police officers to vacate the area, they outrightly disobeyed him.
According to the CSP who spoke, they were sent by the IGP through the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and that Sanwo Olu should call them if he wants them to leave.
Reacting to the new development via Instagram, Reno Omokri mocked the Lagos state governor , stating that the CSP would have known the difference between governors and Governors if he tried this action with Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike.
He wrote;
“If it was Governor Wike that CSP disobeyed, he would have known that there are governors and there are Governors. Sanwoolu can’t claim to be in charge in Lagos after this incident.
Pointus Pilate is only in charge to the extent Buhari allows. Wike would not tolerate that in Rivers, and something must happen to that CSP.
Sadly, Sanwoolu is not assertive enough for a state like Lagos. And no big surprise. He was picked by Tinubu precisely because of his anodyne nature. Heavy Baba so pe Governor!”
