The Edo North town hall meeting and political debate held on Friday December 23, 2022 had the presence of SDP presidential candidate and Delta state governorship candidate, Prince Adewole Adebayo and Olorogun Barrister Kenneth Gbagi respectively in attendance. Other party executives in Delta state were also part of the hierarchy that attended the event at Auchi, a leading town in Edo state.
There was a brief stop at the palace of the Otaru of Auchi, HRH Alhaji Aliru Momoh, Ikelebe III, the Otaru of Auchi Kingdom in Etsako West local government area of Edo state to pay their respects to the traditional ruler.
In the meeting, the Otaru of Auchi suggested the casting of lots as it was practiced in the Quran and the Bible instead of the turbulent process of conducting elections in Nigeria.
Olorogun Gbagi also took the opportunity to remind the people of Auchi to vote wisely during the 2023 presidential election, reminding them of the agreement of equal ruling opportunity of the north and south “one north, one south’.
Prince Adewole Adebayo, the SDP presidential candidate, expressed dissatisfaction with the current state of infrastructure in Auchi and also the debilitating state of the roads leading to the town.
He vowed to bring back power to the traditional rulers, insisting that they have been underrated.
While speaking at the town hall meeting, he pointed out that as an investor in the community, he has a personal interest in making Auchi a thriving society.
