Ile Oodua elders are making a last-minute move to reconcile the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and his ex-wife, Prophetess Naomi Silekunola.
According to t sources in the palace who spoke with PUNCH, some of the elders have reached out to Prophetess Naomi in a bid to settle their differences
The elders’ team are said to comprise of traditional rulers and members of Ife community.
One of the tour guides in the palace told the publication;
“The babas (elders) are meeting on it. We pray that they can reconcile them”
“Everybody is in a sobber mood. The issues we heard could cause the divorce are reconcilable. We learnt Ooni is not aware of the divorce too.”
When asked about some of the elders making the reconciliation move, he said, “No, they asked us not to talk,” and cut the phone.
As of the hour of recording this report, it’s unknown if the reconciliation was successful.
However, a close ruler to Ooni, who affirmed that “elders are making moves, said, “a statement from the royal residence will affirm the result”.
Note that if the reconciliation turns out to be unsuccessful, it means A the Ooni of Ife has been married twice as a king and the marriages failed.
He first got married to Olori Wuraola from Benin in 2016 and their marriage ended in 2017.
