The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ede Dafinone, has extended warm felicitations to His Royal Majesty, Major-General Felix Mujakperuo (rtd), Orhue I, the Orodje of the Okpe Kingdom, as the revered monarch marks his birthday.
In a goodwill message issued on behalf of the Dafinone family and the people of Delta Central, Senator Dafinone described the Orodje’s birthday as a moment not only to honour his life but also to reflect on his steadfast dedication to the peace, unity, and development of the Okpe Kingdom.
He lauded the monarch’s visionary leadership, noting that under his reign, the kingdom has recorded significant socio-economic progress. According to the Senator, the Orodje’s foresight has strengthened institutions, encouraged investment, and uplifted communities—making the Okpe Kingdom “a model of purposeful and progressive traditional governance.”
Quoting scripture, Senator Dafinone remarked that the Orodje’s exemplary leadership underscores the biblical saying: “When the righteous is on the throne, the people rejoice.”
The lawmaker also hailed the monarch’s contributions as Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, describing him as a stabilising force whose wisdom and diplomacy have promoted ethnic harmony and peaceful coexistence across the state. He added that the Orodje’s interventions at critical moments have provided balance, reason, and fatherly counsel to the state’s socio-political landscape.
“As we celebrate Your Majesty, we honour a life defined by service, honour, humility, and unwavering commitment to truth and justice,” Senator Dafinone stated.
He prayed for God to grant the Orodje many more years of good health, sound mind, and strength, while wishing him a peaceful and prosperous reign.
The message ended with the traditional Okpe salutations: “Umogu! Umogu!! Umogu!!! Wu ne Su Tor!” and was signed by Senator Ede Dafinone, Delta Central Senatorial District.
