The Obi of Issele-Mkpitime Kingdom in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, His Royal Majesty Obi Sunday Ubaka Ogboli, has praised Senator Ned Munir Nwoko for his dedication to grassroots development during a visit to the community.
Senator Nwoko, who represents Delta North in the National Assembly, visited the traditional ruler and his cabinet on Saturday, June 7.
The visit followed earlier discussions in Abuja, where the community had appealed for critical infrastructure including a well-equipped ICT centre and improved access roads.
In his remarks, the Obi expressed appreciation for the senator’s responsiveness, describing him as a leader who keeps his promises.
“You have shown that the needs of Issele-Mkpitime still matter to you,” the monarch said. “When we thank those who deliver, they are inspired to do even more. As you leave, we pray you always return in peace.”
The Obi also used the occasion to reiterate other longstanding needs of the community, joking that his list might be overwhelming. “Like Oliver Twist, I must ask for more,” he quipped.
In response, Senator Nwoko reaffirmed his commitment to delivering impactful projects, confirming that the ICT Centre was already in motion.
“The ICT Centre is a done deal,” he said. “It will be equipped with 100 computers, smart TVs, and internet access secured for at least five years. Additionally, we are undertaking three kilometers of new road construction within Issele-Mkpitime.”
Nwoko also announced new scholarships for five indigent students from the community to attend his Sports University, adding to those already benefiting from his education support initiatives.
During the visit, Dr. Michael Nwoko, the senator’s Chief of Staff, revealed that Issele-Mkpitime has been included in the federal ERGP project code 20260464. Under this phase, classroom blocks will be constructed in six communities across Delta North, including Issele-Mkpitime.
The senator’s visit was widely seen as a reaffirmation of his grassroots connection and ongoing commitment to the development of Delta North.
