Seven policemen killed by bandits along Tofa-Magami Road in the Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
An indigene of the area, Salisu Sani, said the incident occurred around 6pm on Monday when the police personnel went to the area on patrol mission.
“The bandits ambushed the policemen, killed seven of them and set their operational vehicle ablaze.” He said.
Sani explained further that the bandits engaged the police operatives in a gun battle, as a result of which seven of the policemen were killed.
“The bodies of the diseased policemen was taken to Yarima Bakura Specialist Hospital”, he said.
The spokesperson for the Yarima Bakura Specialist Hospital Gusau, Awwal Ruwan-Doruwa, confirmed that seven dead bodies of the slain policemen were brought to the hospital.
