A 65-year-old man identified as Rojaiye Balogun was on Wednesday arrested for allegedly having carnal knowledge of his 17-year-old daughter.
According to reports, the man was nabbed by the Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), at Imomo-Ijebu, Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area of the state.
Confirming the news, Ogun NSCDC Commandant, Kolawole Taiwo, told newsmen that a relative of the victim had reported the case at the Anti-Human Trafficking, Irregular Migration Unit of the command.
He added that the man had confessed to having unlawful carnal knowledge of his daughter, saying it was the work of the devil.
While berating the rising cases of incest in society, Kolawole maintained that the matter would be investigated.
Meanwhile, Balogun had denied being the victim’s biological father.
According to him, he slept with her once at a time her mother travelled.
However, the victim disagreed with the suspect. She revealed that he is his biological father and that he raped her four times.
Going further, the victim alleged that her father once promised to give her N1,000 to allow him to sleep with her. When she refused, he forced himself on me.
The teenager also revealed that her mother had refused to believe her several times the matter was reported to her.
Fortunately, her uncle believed her and took her to the NSCDC office to report the case.
