A young man was today, December 3, shot dead by a man said to be a SARS official in Otaefun, Osogbo, Osun State.
It would be recalled that the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) unit of the police force was disbanded last year after the End SARS protests.
However, it seems the recent happening shows that the unit is still operational in Osun State.
According to reports, the SARS official in question allegedly tried to extort the man and when things didn’t go his way, he shot him.
In a video shared online, the body of the deceased could be seen lying on the road, with blood all over his shirt and trousers.
Angry locals could also be seen holding the officer who allegedly fired the fatal shot. He was stripped of his shirt and beaten by an angry mob while the deceased lay feet away.
