Plans are in top gear to host the South-South PDP Youth Leaders Summit on March 4, 2022, in Asaba, Delta state.

This was made known to journalists during a press conference organised by the Delta dtate chapter of PDP youth body, ably led by Obowomario Bino Owhere on the 18th January, 2022, at the PDP state secretariat in Asaba.

According to the state PDP youth leader, “I am elated that in my time as the Delta dtate PDP youth leader, the South-South PDP Youth Leaders Summit is holding. This means that history is already being made and recorded as part of our accomplishments in office.

“This also underscores the disposition of our amiable governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, who not only loves the youths, but committed against all odds to see the young ones grow and progress.

“He understands our challenges and has made it a point of duty to always aid us in making incremental progress in terms of capacity building, skills acquisition, entrepreneurship empowerment and development.

“We equally use this medium to commend the people’s delight chairman of our great party PDP, Olorogun Kingsley Esiso for his massive support to our course.

“He has shown leadership in carrying the youths along by factoring their voices in policy formulations and Implementations of the party.

“That is why we are saying that the youths are not going to take the back seat in this forthcoming 2023 general elections. We are all victims of the retrogression of the country since the Buhari led administration of the nation, and so, we want to take the centre stage in mobilising the youths of this country to chase out the docile leadership of APC.

“In a nutshell, this youth summit is going to be about creativity and awareness creation, as strategy to aid the PDP to victory in the coming presidential election. We the youths are tired of this change that launched us from good to bad”, Obowomario said.

Giving a run down of what the PDP Youth Summit is set to achieve, the Chairman, South-South PDP Youth Leaders Summit and Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, Mr Uyero Erarawewho posited that the objective and focus of the Summit is to strategise on mechanisms to adopt in mobilising the youths of South-South ahead of 2023 elections, in order to aid the PDP to win the presidential election.

He said the theme of the Summit is “Youth and the Rescue Mission of Nigeria”, adding that it would be segmented into critical sections that would seek to generate ideas on how best to prosecute the agenda.

Uyero commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and other notable leaders of the South-South Geopolitical Zone for their initiatives towards a new Nigeria that would soon emerge.

His words, “The South-South is the driver of the PDP in the country. This is a Zone that has six states and all are for PDP, except Governor Ayade who left the family on an excursion. We are ever strong and ready to take back leadership at the centre.

“For this reason, there is need for us to come together. And coming together demands that the youths must work in synergy with the dreams, yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians to save Nigeria. The chunk of our votes in any elections comes from the youths and we are not ready to waste it this time.

“This is why we must re-evaluate and re-strategise on the way forward, which is basically to deliver our country from those sucking it dry”, the Summit Chairman affirmed.

In addition, the vibrant Chairman said that the Youth Leaders from the six states of the Zone, notable national Leaders of the PDP Youth organisation and some of the Presidential Aspirants of the party would be invited to grace the occasion. He stated that the essence remains to come up with strategic ideas on how to mobilize youths across Nigeria to prosecute the 2023 election to victory in favour of the PDP.
