On New Year’s Day, a newborn baby was discovered in the toilet bin of an Air Mauritius plane.
According to reports, the baby was found during a routine customs check of the plane, which landed at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport.
It was gathered that the 20-year-old woman who is suspected to be the child’s mother denied the baby.
However, after doctors examined her body, it was revealed that she had just given birth.
As of the time of this report, the child and the woman who is from Madagascar are in the hospital under police surveillance.
The young mother arrived in Mauritius with a two-year work permit.
