People in Effurun near Warri were left in tears as not less than seven students of the Army Day Children School, Effrun, Uvwie Local Government of Delta State were crushed to death by a tanker filled with petrol.
According to Sahara Reporters, the students were on their way home from school around 3:30pm on Thursday, when the petroleum filled tanker ran into them..
A member of the schools’ Alumni set of 2012, who spoke on anonymity, described the disaster as heart rendering.
“On getting to the scene, seven pupils were confirmed dead on the spot, while at least 13 injured ones were rushed to the Army Hospital, Effurun barracks for immediate treatment”
“A mother had two of her kids killed by the tanker,other mothers were wailing in pains right there”
“This is the first time I’ve seen it face to face, I’ve only heard about trailers crushing people, I saw it today, I saw it, she said crying.
