Two new tenants have reportedly kidnapped three children in Ajuwon area of Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, Daily Trust is reporting.
Daily Trust was told that the incident occurred on Friday evening, barely four days after new tenants moved into the house.
However, the newspaper said another report said the atrocity was carried out 24 hours after the new tenants moved into the apartment.
The suspects, identified to be two women, allegedly took the kids away from the compound at Itsekiri Street in Ajuwon axis.
The newspaper said it was further gathered that the women claimed that they were students of an Ikeja, Lagos State-based school and would stay at the apartment for three weeks to allow them complete their examinations.
The spokesman, Ogun State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, told Daily Trust: “It is a case of child stealing.
“The perpetrators disguised themselves as new tenants.
“They rented an apartment, moved in and they have stayed there for about one week.
“As part of their tactics, they became friendly with the old tenants’ kids, but the parents didn’t sense any danger.
“Suddenly, they pounced on three kids and took them away.
“The incident happened on Friday.
“No arrest has been made.
“We are still investigating the matter.”
