Following an intelligence report, Anambra dtate police command has arrested two male robbery suspects at Umueri in continuation with its efforts to stem the tide of crime and other nefarious activities in the State.
The suspects are Anthony Okeke twenty-nine and Chijioke Eljiaja twenty-three, both of Umueri in Anambra East Local Government Area of the State.
A release signed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Haruna Mohammed, disclosed that Police operatives attached to Otoucha Division in conjunction with local vigilante arrested the suspects last Friday at about ten minutes past nine o’clock in the night.
It stated that the suspects are habitual offenders allegedly terrorizing the community shortly after their release from Correctional Center two months ago.
The release listed one locally made revolver pistol and six cartridges as exhibits recovered from them.
While reassuring the public of its continue commitment to protecting lives and properties against criminals until they repent or relocate from the State, the release further declared that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
